This database has the texts of the agreements and protocols on "New Issues" (Trade in Services, Public Procurement, Double Taxation, Investments, Competition Policies, Copyright and Traditional Knowledge Protection), signed by ALADI member countries within the framework of this Association, the CAN, the MERCOSUR, the Free Trade Agreements signed with third countries and within the scope of the WTO.
Regarding double taxation, also those agreements signed by member countries but not registered within the ALADI are presented.
The WTO Agreement on Government Procurement is multilateral and no ALADI country is part of it.
The General Secretariat prepared this information in compliance with a mandate of the Committee of Representatives, based on what has been done in the Working Group on "New Issues".
The works about the "New Issues" are based on the CM/Resolution 59, which, in its paragraph 8, points out: "in order to develop and consolidate the Free Trade Area… it is necessary to harmonize and incorporate, at the most convenient level, the disciplines and rules for the free trade and those matters that complement and promote the Free Trade Area (FTA).
