REFERENCE SERVICE
Answers information requests made through e-mail, with the assistance of professional librarians. Searches are carried out in our own collection or in other information sources, such as International Organizations, Public or Private Institutions, Libraries, as well as in other databases and websites available at the Internet. The answers can be delivered printed or through e-mail, depending on the user's needs.
SELECTIVE DISSEMINATION (SDI SERVICE)
Once the profile of the user is established, he receives periodic e-mails containing information about new acquisitions related to his/her area of interest.
ONLINE SEARCH IN DATABASES
DOCUM: Registers and analyses the official documents issued by the General Secretariat; most documents issued since 1999 are available online.
LIVROS: Includes book reviews of books, articles, documents of international organizations, etc., of the collection of the Library. This database is a continuation of the printed catalogue, which must be used when looking for documents published before 1988.
MERCO: Includes book reviews of official documents related to the Regulations of the MERCOSUR, i.e., decisions, resolutions and guidelines.
TITLE: Automatic catalogue of available periodicals, with information on volumes and/or numbers included in the collection.
TITDOF: Catalogue of the available Official Gazettes of the member countries, with information on volumes and/or numbers included in the collection.
LENDING
The lending service is available to the officers of the General Secretariat, the Representatives and officers of the Representations of the Member Countries, as well as those who take part in joint projects or cooperative work, or consultants working under contract.
If necessary, it is also used the inter-library lending.
RESEARCH AT THE READING ROOM
External users can access the collection at the Library's Reading Room, which is open from Monday to Friday, from 10:30 am to 4 pm. Photocopy service available.
