This work deals in depth with the genesis, running and actions of the Arbitration Courts of the MERCOSUR and the Permanent Court of Review, which became fundamental instruments for the solution of disagreements between the member States of the main regional bloc of South America.
For this purpose, the awards pronounced since 1999 are analysed in detail, when resorting, for the first time, to the meeting of an Arbitration Court.
The deepening and improvement of the dispute settlement system, which became reality through different Protocols and the observance of the awards pronounced by the Arbitration Courts, are an exteriorization of the firm intention and commitment of its members to consolidating the legal security and the credibility of the bloc.
