This section presents information on the Agreement on Reciprocal Payments and Credits, subscribed by twelve central banks, which allows the clearing of payments related to the trade of goods originated in the signatory countries or services carried out by residents of those countries. Thus, the final balance payment is made at the end of every four-month period, transferring or receiving money from one country to the other accordingly, if balance is positive or negative.
Since this Agreement entered into force, financial transactions of U$S 242.039,8 billions were made, of which U$S 92.354,8 billions were withdrawals. Therefore, only 38,2% % of the total amount of financial transfers was needed for paying off the balances. In this section you can access: | |
